daughter, founder, speaker

Keta is the founder of the award-winning fragrance house, Ourside. Half-Jamaican and Ohio bred, she currently resides in New York City. Keta spent her early years as one of few black competitive figure skaters, competing in the US and Canada. After retiring her dream of making it to the Olympics, a new pathway opened up, leading her to pursue studies at an ivy league institution.

Keta studied Portuguese and Religion at Dartmouth College while holding part time jobs, spending two years as a varsity track & field athlete, and taking active leadership roles, working on initiatives that still exist at the college today.

She then went on to work for iconic companies such as KraftHeinz and Carnival Cruise Lines in Chicago and Miami.
In 2019 Keta enrolled at Harvard Business School where she pursued her MBA and it was there that her love for fragrance and a conversation with her sister sparked the idea that would become Ourside.

Using grants from Harvard, Keta and her sister Kaja launched a proof of concept sku fragrance called Moon Dust, that landed the brand in magazines from InStyle to Cosmo, and speaking engagements from Harvard Business School to The World Perfumery Congress.

Taking a leap and living an entire year after business school on the remainder of her student loans, Keta went on to raise capital as a black woman for the concept that is now Ourside - the fragrance house of the future. Scent for self-care and connection based on self-love and community.

In addition to Ourside, Keta enjoys consulting for early stage beauty, skincare and wellness businesses and coaching prospective MBA applicants. You can see more about her offerings here
